What happens when demands for liberation enter electoral politics and encounter questions of political strategy, representation and compromise? Who determines what is politically possible, and what happens when demands are reframed, amended or dismissed as merely symbolic?

As political conference comes to Brighton, these questions are coming into particularly sharp focus. We invite you to step outside the immediacy of these discussions and think together about the wider tensions between political principle and pragmatism, solidarity and paternalism, political recognition and material change.

How do we navigate disagreements among those committed to Palestinian liberation without losing sight of the struggle itself? What responsibilities do political actors outside Palestine have? And what possibilities for meaningful solidarity exist within and beyond electoral politics?

Our Majlis offers a non-hierarchical space to breathe, reflect and think together.

An open, interdisciplinary and non-hierarchical gathering where everyone is invited to bring their knowledge, experiences and questions. Rather than a panel or formal debate, we'll sit together, share light refreshments and make space for listening, questioning and respectful disagreement.

We ask everyone to be mindful of the space they occupy, making room for Palestinian knowledge, political perspectives and lived experiences, while reflecting on whose voices are too often given authority in conversations about Palestinian liberation.

We welcome people engaged in all forms of solidarity, from electoral politics to grassroots organising and beyond.
